Manny Pacquiao beats Joshua Cottley before 50,994 crowd

14 Mar

Manny Pacquiao has again proved his domination in the boxing world when he beat Joshua Clottey in their welterweight fight, keeping up his reputation as the world’s best pound-for-pound fighter.

Pacquiao controlled the fight from the start, throwing mostly body shots because Clottey locked his arms in front of his face. Pacquaio never slowed throwing punches and Clottey never got very aggressive. Up to the last round, neither fighter went down.

There were cheers of ‘Manny! Manny! from most of the 50,994 crowd at the Cowboys Stadium in nearly every round.

He is going again making headline in every sports news.

Pacman vs Cotto

The now famous pound-for-pound king and now WBO welterweight champion, Manny Pacquiao made a boxing history after defeating Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto in their “Firepower” bout on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Pacquiao defeated Cotto after referee Kenny Bayles stopped the already lopsided contest via technical knockout in Round 12.

The Filipino boxing superstar is the first fighter to win seven world titles in seven different weight divisions.  They are flyweight, junior-featherweight, feather, junior-light, lightweight, junior-welterweight and now welterweight.  He also won the WBC diamond belt.  Pacquiao’s record improves to 50-3-2, with 37 knockouts while Cotto’s record slumps to 34-2, with 27 KOs.

This is again a feat for the Philippines, a boxing-crazy Asian nation.
