one daily bread…

3 Sep

Today, a friend of mine approached me and have confided about his problem.  You can sense from the sound of his voice how hard it is to him.  He may not speak about it but his eyes explain the worries and pains.  Losing a wife and children is already painful and how much more painful it is to lose them when all you do is be a good husband and father to them.

Today as well, another friend of mine was chatting me and also asking me to help with her problem.  She cannot perform her work well because she has so many worries.  She doesn’t know how to deal with them anymore.  She is thinking of running away so she might have the peace in mind she wants to feel.

I am looking at myself and uttered, “Who am I for them to ask help from?  Who am I for them to run to? ” I who don’t even know how to resolve my own problem.  Why me?  I know I don’t have any guts to advise them but I can’t tell them that because I know they are expecting even a piece of advise.  I am as well going through a number of problems.  Most of the time I found myself on a deep thought trying to think of the solution to my problems.

The three of us have worries.  Each of us have different problems.  The reason sometime why we don’t find the best solution is that we tend to approach the wrong adviser.  God said in Proverbs 3:26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken (Sapagka’t ang Panginoon ay magiging iyong pagtitiwala, at iingatan ang iyong paa sa pagkahuli).  During our most difficult times we forget to kneel and pray and ask God what is best for us.  If we only set our hope to God, would we have any worries about when a solution is going to come in time we best need it?

“James 5:13  Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. “

“Santiago 5:13  Nagbabata baga ang sinoman sa inyo? siya’y manalangin. Natutuwa ang sinoman? awitin niya ang mga pagpupuri. “
