Interesting events to happen today…

16 Dec

interestingeventstoday Like what I usually love to do during free time – browse the internet. Today, I am really anticipating two interesting events that are going to happen in this very day. They are the final judgment for the very first Asian Idol that’s going to happen tonight (10pm, Manila time) and the closing ceremony of 23rd Southeast Asian Games. I maybe far from Manila but with the aid of modern technology and the internet I get myself updated with what’s going on around Manila and other places as well.

Let’s talk about first the Asian Idol. I have been following this event from the very first time I have heard of it. Today, I have been trying to search all the possible sites where I can watch the Performance Show that happened yesterday. Wish ABC5 can be watched abroad as well. Fortunately, I found these links of the December 15 Asian Idol Performance Show. Just click the links below and see for yourself if you were not able to watch the live telecast over ABC5 in the Philippines, Sony Entertainment TV in India, RCTI in Indonesia, 8TV in Malaysia, MediaCorp TV in Singapore and lastly HTV9 in Vietnam.

To all my kababayans, let’s all support Mau by sending sms(text message). You need to watch the finale show in order to be able to vote by texting. The host is going to announce when they are going to start accepting sms votes. So, you really have to hook up in order to do that. Here is how to do the voting: TYPE VOTE<space>COUNTRY<space>COUNTRY2 and SEND to 2959. Please do take note to only type country code in order for your vote to be valid.

Example: PHIL for Philippines or INDO for Indonesia.

The next interesting thing that is to happen tonight as well is the closing ceremony of the 23rd SEA Games that’s happening in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand since December 16. I have been following news about this games starting from the first day. Frankly, Philippines performance is not really that impressive unlike the last time. I really can say when you are in your home it’s really a plus factor like what’s happening now in Thailand. The same thing happened in the Philippine Team when 23rd SEA Games was held in Manila. I noticed that Vietnam has really done it so well this time and they are on third as of December 15 ranking. See below for the medal standing as of 6pm, December 15.

Many Filipinos were complaining on the judging in the boxing bouts of Filipino boxers against Thai boxers. For me, I think this should be something for the men behind the Filipino boxers to learn, that is, send the best fighters we have the next time around so we would not regret in the end.

That’s all for today.

I would be glad for any comments or suggestions posted from readers.

Dubai Media City, a global media hub

14 Dec

I have been here in Dubai for quite sometime but the other day was just my first time to personally witness Dubai Media City or DMC for short. It was a wonderful place with lots of a modern structures, well maintained landscapes that are so pleasing to the eyes to look at. Can’t help myself but to shoot nice photos of the place. You will find here some of the photos I took of the place.

I salute the noble objectives of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR). In my country, I know of commissioners in the CHR who are impartial and stand by their principles and integrity. They deserve the highest commendation for it is due them.

Romans 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

To be impartial and equitable in the disposition of a case while someone is surrounded by threats and influence peddlers, more so, if these influence peddlers are holding high positions in government is not a very easy task to do.

A person who does not steal can not out rightly be tagged as honest and not a thief. An honest person (and not a thief) is someone who does not steal even when there is a chance to do so. A person who stands in the principles of justice even under pressure is a just person.

I know that this has been the situation of those who handled my petition in the CHR-NCR who decided in favor of me against a government official whom they found out to have violated my human rights. For this and their effort I pray that they may be rewarded by the Almighty.

To give honor and praises to whom they are not due is the highest of folly that a man may commit.

Proverbs 24:24 He who says to the wicked, ” You are innocent, ” will be cursed by peoples, abhorred by nations… RSV

Proverbs 15:5 To respect the person of the wicked is not good, Nor to turn aside the righteous in judgment. ASV

Blog Intro

11 Dec

Hi!

First and foremost, I’d like to introduce you to my web blog, called ‘a piece of daily reality’. I am going to share you every piece of reality that I am going to encounter everyday here in Dubai. At least, I can give you some pretty idea what’s going on in Dubai. I know, a lot of people are so eager to see Dubai and hear anything about this modern Arab City. Of course, I am not forgetting sharing also about my beloved mother land, the beautiful and resources-rich Philippines. I just hope, Godwilling, I can share in this little way some good things and something to learn especially about God’s way of spreading His words here in Dubai through his instrument – The Seer: Bro Eli F. Soriano.

Truth is I am a bit apprehensive about coming up with a blog because the very reason is I don’t know how to write. I don’t have any experience in writing but I am really that interested in having my own blog. I have been planning this for quite sometime. Right now, with God’s help and your help as well, it is going to be a reality. I think, it’s better than just sitting down or lying in bed during my free time and just let some force get in my way in keeping in the good track.

What do you think?
